Miniature Pinschers - General Description

Miniature Pinschers are compact dogs, rather muscular, with square proportions of body. It is a well-balanced, and smooth-coated dog. The dog's head is in proportion to the body. Slightly oval eyes are dark, full and clear. The ears are set high, and may be cropped or not cropped. The Miniature Pinscher's muzzle is strong. The nose is black, with the exception of chocolates. The teeth should meet in a scissors bite.

The short shiny coat of the Miniature Pinscher can be found in solid red, black or brown with tan markings. Possible coat colors are red, stag red, black or chocolate.

In spite of the small size of the dog, the Miniature Pinscher is not a lap dog, and they can be dangerous if you treat it wrong. Curious, energetic, suspicious of strangers and courageous, the Miniature Pinscher has a great need for activity, and it will do almost anything to satisfy his curiosity.

When the dog is not supervised, it should be confined to a room of its own. Miniature Pinschers are self-possessed and fearless. Miniature Pinschers have a friendly disposition that makes it a good pet for both adults and children.

Weight: 8-10 pounds in dogs and 8-9 pounds in bitches
Life Span: Miniature Pinschers can live up to over 15 years.
